A solo exhibition of Brooke Aruffo showcases 2 abstract paintings supporting her thesis about the benefits of nature. Nature offers more than beauty to please the eyes of mankind. Nature offers an improvement to human health with the potential to lower blood pressure, increase our power to fight cancer, and allow us to live happier, more sustainable lives. With an emphasis on Shinrin-Yoku, or Japanese forest, Shinrin-Yoku bathing has proven to show these powerful effects. The artist has also experienced a beneficial impact from spending time in nature, which is reflected in an abstract painting inspired by the desert. The use of color, shape, density, and imagery created in the paintings is reflective of the 5 senses, and the overall emotions of being immersed in a natural environment.
