Los Angeles-based artist Macha Suzuki and Galleries Director Dion Johnson discuss his art practice and his mixed media sculpture “The Rider 2010,” located in the Abraham Campus Center.

Macha Suzuki was born in Tokyo Japan in 1979; he immigrated to Los Angeles in 1988. He has an MFA from Claremont Graduate University in sculpture and a BA in studio art with emphases in painting and photography from Azusa Pacific University. Suzuki has had solo exhibitions at Sam Lee Gallery, Los Angeles CA; Wignall Museum, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Vincent Price Art Museum, Los Angeles, CA; Laguna Art Museum, Laguna, CA; Gallery Lara Tokyo, Japan; Kravets/Wehby Gallery, New York, NY; among others. Suzuki has also taught art and design at various institutions since 2005, and he is currently Clinical Assistant Professor at Loyola Marymount University. He lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
