Kelly Sears is an award-winning animator and filmmaker living in Los Angeles. Sears’ collage animations parse together collected media artifacts to reveal secret histories, forgotten tales, and possible moments embedded in the images around us. Through media archeology, narrative architecture, and D.I.Y. ephemeral archives, she explores the darker side of technological progress, frontierism, and ideological expansion. Her animations bring together moments of possible collapse and possibilities of hope.
