Land Acknowledgement

The University of La Verne’s Photography Program and the Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography, acknowledge that our campus and gallery reside on the unseeded lands of the indigenous peoples of Southern California and invite those in attendance to reflect on the land that you currently inhabit and who were the original caretakers of that land.

Please visit Native Land Digital to learn more about the history of colonialism and view their map and Territory Acknowledgement Guide to better understand the need for change in settler colonial societies.
