The Photography Program and our facilities are housed on the garden floor of historic Miller Hall, in the heart of the University of La Verne’s main campus. Students in ULV’s Photography program have access to our state-of-the-art facilities and equipment including:
Digital Labs
Two advanced Mac computer labs with a total of 14 editing workstations of MacPro towers with color-calibrated monitors and Adobe Creative Cloud, 1 Hasselblad Flextight Imacon film scanner, a large format Epson flatbed film scanner, Canon flatbed scanners, 6 professional Epson digital inkjet printers with outputs up to 44″ wide and print viewing stations.
Analog Labs
The Photography Darkrooms includes two analog darkrooms with a total of 12 enlarging stations for 35mm, 120mm and 4×5 film printing. Alternative processes and a film development facility for palladium, wet plate collodion, other historic processes, and black and white film processing.
Lighting Studio
The Photography Lighting Studio is available for use by students enrolled in photography courses and includes high-end strobe systems with nine and five foot backdrop stations.
Print Finishing
Students are able to utilize our mat cutter, dry mount press, large format vacuum press and Plexiglass cutter for finalizing their artwork for exhibitions.
Equipment Rental
Students enrolled in photography courses have access to a large array of analog and digital photographic equipment and lighting gear to rent out to complete their coursework. Our rental program includes 35mm film cameras, 4×5 view cameras, full-frame DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras, a large selection of full-frame lenses, accessories, strobe, LED and hot light kits, analog and digital lab equipment.
