 Steve Slakey

Steve Slakey teaches the Introduction to Geography course.  He has taught for 20 years at ULV and previously was a high school geography and social science teacher.  He received his MA in Geography from CSU Fullerton.  He received national recognition for his teaching from the State Farm Insurance/National Geographic “Good Neighbor” award program.  He served as an exchange teacher in Ukraine as part of a U.S. State Department program and traveled to Japan under Rotary International’s Group Study Exchange program.  He has traveled extensively domestically and internationally and brings that experience to his classroom and includes an all day field trip to Los Angeles’ Historic Downtown each semester.
