To apply, submit the items below, which become property of the university upon receipt:

  1. Application for Admission and Application Fee: Complete an application using the La Verne Application for Admission and submit the non-refundable $50 application fee or application fee waiver.
  2. High School Transcripts: Submit your transcripts to the Office of Admission by email at admissiondocs@laverne.edu. We will accept unofficial transcripts for admission consideration, but we will need final official transcripts directly from your school once you graduate.
  3. Letter of Recommendation (Optional): One letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor where you are currently enrolled or most recently attended.
  4. SAT or ACT Test Scores (Optional): The University of La Verne is test-optional, which means that you have the option to submit an SAT or ACT test score if you feel it strengthens your application. Test scores must be sent to the university directly from the testing agency or be reported on the official high school transcript.

High School Coursework

We recommend our incoming students take following high school classes prior to attending the University of La Verne:

  • four years of English;
  • three years of social science;
  • passed or surpassed Algebra II; and
  • two years of science; including a lab.

Cost and Available Financial Aid

The 60-unit Streamlined for Success Program is offered at the discounted tuition rate of $250 per unit.

Financial aid is money awarded to students to help pay for a college education and comes in the form of federal, institutional, and state grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study. There are two types of assistance a student may be awarded:

  • Gift Aid: money the student does not have to pay back (grants and scholarships); and
  • Self-Help Aid: money the student will need to repay (loans) or earns by working on campus (work-study).

The key to unlocking these funds is filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. It opens on October 1 each year for the upcoming academic year, and students have to fill it out each year they are in college. The University of La Verne’s School Code is 00121600.

Students may also qualify for state aid through the California Dream Act.
