While this may address the following areas, it need not address all, and please feel free speak to other areas, as well: why the Creative Writing program appeals to you; works, writers, or instructors that have influenced you; reasons you are drawn to written works as a reader; reasons you are drawn to written works as a writer; your ambitions as a writer; and, perhaps most importantly, a discussion of your second artifact.<\/p>\n The second artifact is your creative writing sample. Please provide at least five pages in your strongest genre or genres (choosing between fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction). While you may provide up to twenty pages, and while you may provide work in more than one genre, please use discretion in sharing work that best captures your abilities and interests as a writer.<\/p>\n The statement and creative writing sample should be uploaded directly to your admission portal or emailed to admission@laverne.edu<\/a>.
