{"id":2,"date":"2009-10-12T15:41:33","date_gmt":"2009-10-12T20:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/scholarship\/"},"modified":"2025-12-15T12:22:59","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T17:22:59","slug":"performance-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"Performance Scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"ulv-gray-box\">\n<h2>Application Deadline<\/h2>\n<p>The application deadline for Performance Scholarships is <strong>February 27, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The University of La&nbsp;Verne is offering $31,000 scholarships to 12 students in eight featured performance categories for the 2026-2027 academic year. <strong>Scholarships are for incoming freshmen, international, and transfer students only (must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0)<\/strong>.\u00a0 Applicants may not be enrolled in any La&nbsp;Verne course prior to Fall 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Scholarships are renewable annually up to four years of undergraduate study based on the student&#8217;s academic progress and participation in their performance scholarship area. Students are strongly encouraged to apply for state and federal financial aid in addition to this scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>Select applicants will be invited to attend Performance Scholarship Day on Saturday, <span>March 21, 2026<\/span>. Scholarship winners will be announced <span>March 27, 2026<\/span>.\u00a0 <span>Scholarship recipients will have until April 7, 2026<\/span>\u00a0to accept the Performance Scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>One or two scholarships are available in each of the eight areas of visual and performing arts:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"columns-list col-2\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/communications\/digital-media-ba\/\">Communications<\/a> (film and television production or journalism: television, radio and multimedia reporting and producing, and podcasting)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/creative-writing\">Creative Writing<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/music\/\">Music<\/a> (voice or instrument)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/photography\/\">Photography<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/rhetoric\/\">Rhetoric and Communication Studies<\/a> (<span>Speech and Debate<\/span>)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/art\">Studio Art<\/a> (any media)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/theatre\/\">Theatre<\/a> (performance or design)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Application Requirements<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete and submit the following application materials by <strong>midnight, February<span> 27, 2026<\/span><\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>University of La&nbsp;Verne Application (You may use either the<a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.laverne.edu\/register\/?id=ccd3d351-7ae9-4449-a080-bb8e0c63ae6d\"> La&nbsp;Verne application<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commonapp.org\/\">Common Application<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.laverne.edu\/register\/?id=d079756a-e353-4338-af24-fa919056b8a9\">Performance Scholarship Supplemental Application<\/a> (You will need to submit your La&nbsp;Verne application first and set up your admission portal before having access to the Supplemental Application)<\/li>\n<li>Performance Scholarship Recommendation (You may upload this to your application portal after application submission or request your recommender to email it to admission@laverne.edu)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/scholarship\/requirements\/\">Area Specific Requirements<\/a> (You may upload these to your application portal after application submission)<\/li>\n<li>Resume: Please prepare and submit your one-page resume detailing your work related to the performance scholarship area for which you are applying and upload to your application portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span>Applicants are required to be fully admitted graduating high school seniors, eligible transfer students, or international students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Each department and\/or the Dean\u2019s Office will notify applicants of the interview and selection process by <span>March 11, 2026<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><span>Applicants are required to major or minor in the performance area. Please refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.laverne.edu\/scholarship\/requirements\/\">Area Specific Requirements<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Applicants may only apply under <strong>one<\/strong> performance area.<\/li>\n<li>Recipients must enroll full-time at the University of La&nbsp;Verne and continuously attend while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0.<\/li>\n<li><span>Applicants are required to be fully admitted graduating high school seniors, eligible transfer students, or international students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Applications and paperwork received after <span>February 27, 2026<\/span>\u00a0will <strong>not be accepted<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>Any combination of institutional gift (University of La&nbsp;Verne Scholarships, awards, and grants) cannot exceed the total of yearly cost of tuition and fees.\u00a0<\/em><em>The Performance Scholarship is considered a merit scholarship and as such\u00a0 may not be combined with any other university merit scholarships.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Application Deadline The application deadline for Performance Scholarships is February 27, 2026.
