Policy: Students will not be required to work for the program. Students with specific prior knowledge, experiences and skills may assist faculty in didactic and laboratory sessions to share knowledge and skills.
Procedure: Students are not to be the primary instructor of any component of the curriculum, and may not substitute for clinical or administrative staff during supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPE).
Employment While Enrolled Policy
Policy: Students are permitted to work during the program, however, because of the intensity and academic rigor of the program, the PA faculty strongly recommends that students not be employed throughout their tenure in the program. A student may not use work as an excuse to miss any program activities. A student may not represent himself/herself as a Physician Assistant student except during official program sponsored clinical affiliations. The professional liability coverage provided by the University of La Verne does not apply to student employment situations.
