\"Chemistry Chemistry Club<\/h3>\n
\n

ULV Chemistry Club is the La Verne chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS), which strives to educate students on the various applications of chemistry. By providing a variety of events and demonstrations, chemistry club aims to engage students so that they may be encouraged to seek further education and provide service to their community. The American Chemical Society is one of the largest scientific societies that aims to help individuals in education, careers, and community service. As the ULV chapter, chemistry club will serve as a bridge to a large community of chemists that embark on regional and national events, showcasing research and other important findings.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a collaboration between students, staff, and faculty, chemistry club aims to emphasize the values of professionalism, scholarship, and leadership. Chemistry club invites all to explore and engage in activities that serve to better the environment and well-being of others.<\/p>\n

  1. To encourage students to apply chemistry to all aspects of life.<\/li>\n
  2. To educate students on value of chemistry in respect to their community.<\/li>\n

    Our purpose and goal is to provide guidance, resources, information, support, and form a community of like-minded individuals who are interested in the clinical sciences including but not limited to, research, clinical laboratory studies, scientific investigation, and experimentation. The club is great for anyone interested in research, gaining clinical experience for graduate school, for possible career opportunities, scientific topics, and a general interest in experimental science.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Future Technologies Club<\/h3>\n

    We are currently working on 3 projects:<\/p>\n

    – 3D printing and coding the flight control system of a drone.<\/p>\n

    – Computer Vision: Use the camera on the drone to follow a person and recognize positions of objects in environment.<\/p>\n

    – Mind controlled Drone: We read the brain waves with an OpenBCI device and filter raw data to individual thoughts\/movements, to then connect them to specific drone movements.<\/p>\n

    \"Physics Physics Program Club<\/h3>\n
    \n

    Physics is the study of the world at its most fundamental level. It is the foundation of all scientific disciplines, and as such is the most diverse field of scientific inquiry. Physicists study the structure of subatomic particles and the evolution of galaxies, model climate change and brain processes, and work at the cutting edge of developing technologies such as nuclear fusion, nanotechnology, quantum optics, and spintronics. The dozens of\u00a0subfields\u00a0within physics attest to how far-reaching physics is in our technological society.<\/p>\n

    The Physics Department at the University of La\u00a0Verne offers a unique and rigorous educational environment in which students receive personalized attention from trained and experienced faculty. The Department offers a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Arts and a minor in physics. Physics majors may also choose to pursue the 3-2 Dual Degree Engineering Program allowing them to obtain an engineering degree in addition to their physics degree in 5 years. The Department also offers a biomedical physics option for majors interested in continuing on to medical school, medical physics or biophysics and a teaching option for majors interested in a career in teaching physics.<\/p>\n

    \"Women Women in Physics Club<\/h3>\n

    Women in Physics is a club for all. We are an advocacy group for the support of women in the sciences and for those wanting to go in to the sciences. Our club is for those interested in helping others succeed while also learning some new things. We are here to help each other on our campus as well as others in the community. Our club is open to all students, faculty, staff, and community members.<\/p>\n

    Our club meetings focus on how physics and other sciences affect our daily lives with fun activities that don’t always feel like learning in order to promote the sciences. We do so in order to build interest and support within this field without giving obligation of prior knowledge.<\/p>\n

    We hope that our club serves to motivate its members to continue to strive in their chosen field of study whether that is within the tech industry, medical field, mathematics, politics, etc. Most importantly we hope that each member feels a part of a family that is supporting and understanding. The purpose of this club is to build a community where we can uplift one another. We host monthly meetings to check in with one another to discuss our mental well-being, potential job opportunities, interesting articles, interview mock trials, resume workshops and so much more. Our club is a safe environment where all ideas are welcomed and encouraged!<\/span><\/p>\n

    Our goal is to provide guidance, resources, and a strong community of pre-health students. The Pre-Health Club is a great resource for individuals pursuing a degree in Medical, Physician Assistant, Nursing, and Physical Therapy programs after graduation! Some of the resources we provide are free GRE, MCAT, DAT, and OAT exam preparation material, internship opportunities for clinical and non-clinical hours, and guest speakers that range from doctors, physician assistants, occupational therapists and nurses, as well as academic advisors from several graduate schools.     Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduate men and women who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests, and who meet the minimum qualifications. Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychological Society (APS). Psi Chi’s sister honor society is Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges.<\/span><\/p>\n

    As an academic club and nationally recognized chapter, we strive to perform a multitude of tasks. The club is not strictly open to physics majors but anybody in a stem related field or who wants to learn more about physics. Tutoring sessions are put on alongside trying to do outreach as well. We work closely with the Women in Physics club to create joint events and we will continue to host events that engage the student body in physics-related activities.<\/div>\n

    Armenian Student Association is an ethnic and social organization that strives to promote and embrace the Armenian culture here at the University of La Verne, and is open to all students regardless of race, nationality, or identity. We love and encourage diversity in our club, and want all students to learn about the rich culture of Armenia. We partake in activities including learning about the history\/traditions, exploring the Armenian language\/alphabet, taking part in Armenian community events, playing games as a group, and creating long-lasting bonds between Armenians and non-Armenians.
