Biology<\/h2>\n

The Biology Department<\/a> at the University of La Verne strives to provide its students of all ages with an education rich in the theories, applications, and values vital to promoting professional development and the quality of life of Earth. We accomplish this pursuit through teaching, research, and action. Small classes offer a unique student-centered academic environment. Joint research projects between faculty and students encourage hands-on work and engaging laboratory outcomes<\/p>\n

Chemistry<\/h2>\n

The Chemistry Department<\/a> provides basic information to non-majors and more extensive information to majors allowing them to better assess the roles of the individual and humanity within their environment. Our approach includes descriptions of structure and organization, laws and relationships, and practical implications of both. By its nature, the third objective of the mission statement requires the bulk of our attention and effort. It is a primary responsibility to provide a solid academic background in chemistry so that our students can function productively in their field.<\/p>\n

Computer Science<\/h2>\n

The mission of the Computer Science and Computer Engineering program<\/a> is to provide an opportunity for undergraduate students to achieve their highest potential and prepare them for their academic, professional, and personal growth through a well-balanced undergraduate program covering theory, application, research, and practice.<\/p>\n

Mathematics<\/h2>\n

The Mathematics Department<\/a> at the University of La Verne is dedicated to the preparation of students for graduate study and careers in teaching, scientific computing, and technology-related industries. While offering basic grounding in the classical areas of mathematics, curriculum emphasizes applied mathematics and its constantly evolving role in analyzing and solving problems in fields ranging from economics to aerodynamics and the environment.<\/p>\n

Physics<\/h2>\n

The Physics program<\/a> at the University of La Verne offers a unique and rigorous educational environment in which students receive individual attention. The bachelor\u2019s degrees (B.A. and B.S. in Physics) prepare students for graduate school, teaching careers, work in industry, and dozens of other possibilities.\u00a0 Our graduates have gone on to pursue careers in astronomy, medical physics, teaching, research, computer modeling and energy production.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
